I finally watched the episode with Gwaine in it last night, and what can I say? I love the guy! I’ve always had a soft spot for Gawain, ever since reading A Squire’s Tale as a kid (and the rest of the series). But the Gawain portrayed in the episode is pretty different from my idea of him, which is… basically the role that Sir Leon serves in the show. Loyal? Kind? Level-headed?
In any case, I really liked Gwaine, and I think it’s about time Merlin has a friend who isn’t 80 or a girl, or secretly Arthur’s friend.

I took another good look at the outfit that Merlin has and apparently I was a big idiot because I didn’t really draw it very accurately at all! Anyway, I was taking a break from doing a commission so I thought to redraw and colour his new outfit. I think I’m finally getting over my art block as well!
And I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be a winter coat or not, but it looks really warm, and I’ve been playing around with the idea of drawing them in winter gear.
